Ex-AAP leader Shazia Ilmi to campaign for BJP in Delhi?
New Delhi, Jan 14: In what could be a big blow for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) former AAP leader Shazia Ilmi will campaign for the BJP in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
Reports on Wednesday suggested that Ilmi may even contest the Delhi assembly elections on BJP ticket.
Ilmi had quit the AAP last year citing lack of democracy in the party. Reports suggest that Ilmi has been in touch with the BJP and if she does join the BJP, she would contest from the RK Puram constituency.
However neither the BJP nor Ilmi have confirmed the news.
Ilmi, who was one of the star candidates in the 2013 Delhi Assembly polls had last year said that she was not happy with the way the AAP was functioning.
