New Delhi, Jan 6: In an act of inhumanity, a private hospital in Delhi dumped the dead body of a day-old female infant in the hospital's waste truck.

According to a report, the shocking incident took place at west Delhi's private hospital, where the baby was born on Sunday night with an enlarged brain.

The doctors informed baby's fahter that she has passed away at 1.30 am and asked them to take possession of her body.

The parents of the infant paid Rs 1,500 as mortuary charges, though as per rules, no mortuary charges can be collected till six hours after death.

We are investigating the matter, it's unacceptable: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

On Monday morning, when the relatives went to collect the body at the mortuary, they found the infant's body kept in the hospital waste truck.

The infant's family then immediately called the police and a complaint was lodged.

When the matter came to the notice of newly-elected AAP Health minister Surendra Kumar Jain, he said, "the reporters should rather meet the hospital MD or the MS, and he as minister was yet to get any written complaint".

Kejriwal says it's unacceptable
