New Delhi, June 8: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Monday caused a huge uproar after the Delhi government gave nod to hospitals to conduct the 'two-finger test' on a rape victim after the victim's consent.

The circular regarding the test was issued on May 29. However shortly after the news became public, Kejriwal and his government received flak for the same.

Delhi govt receives flak for circular

In the circular, Delhi's health department had stated that a complete ban on the test may result in injustice. "To do away with this essential pelvic examination would amount to incomplete assessment of the survivor which will ultimately result in injustice and low conviction rates," it read.

Now latest reports suggest that the Delhi government will withdraw the circular for the two-finger test and will look into the matter.

Supreme Court in 2013 had banned the test as it stated that it violates a woman's right to privacy. Sc had said that even if the report of the two-finger test is affirmative, it cannot give rise to presumption of consent on part of a rape victim.
