Delhi CM: Delhi's development model better than Gujarat

Sheila Dikshit boasts about Delhi
New Delhi, Oct 22: Hitting out at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said that the Delhi development model is much better than that of Gujarat's.

Speaking at the annual function of Shiva CO-operative Thrift and Credit Society, Dikshit said that the development in Delhi was better than what Modi projects. "The highest per capita income in Delhi is one shinning example of our claim. The quality of life and infrastructure in the capital city is being praised all over the world," she said.

She went on to add that a large number of persons in the western state of Gujarat still lack basic amenities.

Dikshit also told that the voters must be cautious and must get carried away by the false promises of the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party. She said that the Congress government believed in caring and sharing. "We alteast do not propagate hatred and division," she said.

Taking a jibe at the BJP she said that her government released equal funds to all the MLAs irrespective of their party.

Speaking of the acheivements of the Congress in the capital she said that Delhi boasts of having around 24 higher education institutions, including six state-level universities commissioned by the government. "The percentage of girl's enrolling is higher in Delhi compared to a number of other states," she said.

Ours is a prosperous and developed state as we endure rapid development along with prosperity. We provide monthly pension upto Rs 1500 to the aged widows and the differently abled.

"The government has provided a reservation of 50 percent seats in the civic bodies for women," she said.
