BJP: How can the IB brief Rahul Gandhi, he is not the PM
The BJP will meet the Election Commission and will complain against Rahul Gandhi alleging that he was spreading hatred among people.
While addressing a rally in Indore on Thursday, Gandhi said that officials from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) told him that after the Muzaffarnagar riots, ISI was approaching then Muslim youth, in order to recruit them.
Gandhi blamed the BJP saying that the party was instigating communal violence.
This comment had now angered the BJP, who are demanding explanations from the Government.
BJP: Rahul is an MP, so are we. IB does not brief party bearers
"In what capacity is the intelligence bureau briefing Rahul Gandhi? He is just an MP, and so are we. He is a party office bearer, we are party office bearers too. The IB does not brief any of our party bearers, how can they brief them? He is not the Prime Minister nor the Home Minister," BJP National spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
Javadekar added that Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde should elaborate on Gandhi's explanation. "If these are indeed IB inputs, then the Home Minister owes an explanation to Gandhi's revelations. This is serious," he added.
BJP also said that if Gandhi and the IB were aware of the issue, why wasn't the plot busted. The BJP also alleged that Gandhi was dividing the national on communal lines.
