Bada badlav hone wala hain: How Modi kept the reshuffle suspense on
New Delhi, July 6: Bada badlav hone wala hain (Let me tell you that there will be big changes) was what Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said at the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday before the reshuffle that took place on the same day.
While it was relatively clear a day in advance who would be the new entrants into the Government, none had a clue about what was coming in the evening.
Smriti's eviction to textile ministry not to be taken lightly, there is more than what meets the eye
There were several changes which included a change in portfolio for Smriti Irani. Sources say that just one or two in the Cabinet were aware of the changes, but a large majority remained clueless
Several journalists had even received calls later in the day from ministers who wanted to know if there was any information.
Not a clue
Many would have thought that the exercise would be limited to an expansion and not a reshuffle. However it was during the Cabinet meeting that the Prime Minister said that there would be big changes.
Most of the ministers spent the rest of the day checking in on the social media, exchanging thoughts with their colleagues and even asking journalists if they knew what the changes would be.
A fellow journalist who had received one such call tells OneIndia that the minister appeared anxious. He had asked if there was any information available on the reshuffle or will he retain his portfolio. To this the journalists replied, " I am as clueless as you are."
