New Dlhi, Sept 18: The self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, who is lodged in Jodhpur jail on charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl, was on Tuesday, defended by his son Narayan Sai.
While talking to a news channel, Narayan Sai said that the character of his father is clean and spotless.
Sai confidently said despite sexual assault allegations against his father, people's 'faith' in Asaram won't be shattered.
"Asaram Bapu's supporters own the spiritual guru as much as I do" he added.
He also claimed that his father never met women alone.
When asked about allegations levelled by the girl, Sai said,"The girl is reported to be mentally unsound. She is undergoing treatment. The allegations on Bapu are baseless. Let the investigations take place thoroughly."
"I am 100 % sure that Asaram Bapu can never threaten anybody. We are confident that the judgment will be in our favour and the truth will come out," he asserted.
Last week, a woman from Indore alleged that Narayan Sai fraudulently got her married to his disciple, who was already married.
On this allegation, he clarified, "I never forced any woman to marry a particular man. I only gave blessings and never threatened."
Yesterday, a court in Rajasthan extended the judicial custody of Asaram till September 30.
A woman alleged that Narayan Sai got her married to his 'married' disciple.
74-year-old Asaram recently demanded for a female doctor to check his health daily in prison.
Meanwhile, the victim's father has demanded for a narco test to be conducted on Asaram.
