"We are sure of getting a majority. The AAP is contesting election on a positive campaign and has a blue print for Delhi. "On February 14, Arvind Kejriwal will be Delhi's Valentine and he will take oath as the chief minister," Chadha said.

The EC on Monday announced polls dates for the national capital, which will be held on February 7, while the counting will be held on February 10. Incidentally, on February 14 last year, Kejriwal quit as the chief minister and the AAP, if voted to power, will be keen on assuming office on the same day.

Senior AAP leader and Political Affairs Committee member Sanjay Singh said polling date was announced after a "year-long wait".

"The party has put forth a blueprint for the national capital and has gone ahead with a positive campaign. We welcome EC's decision and we are sure of getting a majority," Singh said.

As the dates were announced by the EC, party volunteers expressed a sense of relief at the make-shift party office at 173, North Avenue, the residence of AAP MP Dharmvira Gandhi.

For many of them, who had quit their job before assembly election last year, the wait was finally over.

"We had been demanding polls for over a year now. We were expecting that Lok Sabha polls and assembly polls would happen at the same time, but then election for Delhi was not declared as the Legislative Assembly was not dissolved and there was President's Rule.

"We were expecting poll might be declared along with Haryana, Maharashtra in October, but even that did not happen....we thought polls may be finally held in December, along with Jharkhand and Jammu & Kashmir, but even that month passed without a date," said an AAP volunteer at the party office.
