Arvind Kejriwal slapped again: Is AAP losing support base fast?
Kejriwal was slapped and punched in his neck by an unidentified attacker in Dakshinpuri area of the national capital last week. It was later learnt that the attacker was a disgruntled supporters of the AAP and was angry with Kejriwal for allegedly ignoring the Muzaffarnagar riot victims. It is the fifth attack on the AAP leader and former chief minister of Delhi in the last one month. He was also attacked with eggs and ink at a rally in a Varansi last month. Kejriwal has decided to take on BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from the holy city.
This is the second time in a week that Kejriwal has been openly attacked
Kejriwal appealed to his party supporters to remain calm after the last attack, saying no matter how much the opposition tries to attack him, his party wouldn't stop its campaign against corruption. But inside sources said that the party has been embarrassed by repeated attacks on its top leader by its own supporters, current or former.
Former Delhi MLA Rakhi Birla is contesting from North West Delhi. Delhi will go to the polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha election on April 10. The campaigning for the third phase concludes on Tuesday.
