Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj take on Rahul Gandhi, Congress
Raking up the 'pepper spray incident' in the Parliament, Swaraj said: "Bringing the pepper spray in the Parliament was a disgrace." She also added and said that three sessions of the Parliament were wasted on the Telangana by the Congress. "Congress has no control over its MPs," she said.
Speaking about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections Swaraj said that the first task of the next government will be to restore the institutions. "We will accept whatever role the country's citizens have given us," she said.
Swaraj: Rahul's late entry not even genuine
Criticising the UPA's second term Jaitley said that this was a 'wasted opportunity.' "A government can't run on arrogance. You need to build concensus through discussions," he said. He also added that more could have been done in this session of parliament.
Both the leaders then questioned Rahul Gandhi's 'late entry' into the fight against corruption and said that he (Rahul) had never spoken on the graft earlier. His late entry is not even genuine, Sushma said.
However the leaders did express that the party was happy for passing the Telangana Bill and the Lokpal Bill. "We are happy that we could pass the Lokpall Bill and the Telangana Bill," Swaraj said while addressing the reporters.
