AAP protests, demands withdrawal of Land Acquisition ordinance
New Delhi, Jan 5: With the Delhi Assembly elections just around the corner, the AAP on Sunday, Jan 4 said that it would begin a protest against the government's latest land acquisition policy.
In a bid to woo farmers, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said that the party would not allow the central government to acquire the land of the farmers without their consent.
Speaking at Village Dialugue initiative, Kejriwal said that the ordinance brought by the Modi government amend the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 was against the interests of farmers.
He sought clarification from the central government and the Delhi administration over the issue of ownership of land in unauthorised colonies. AAP even alleged that the ordinance on land acquisition has been brought about to please corporate houses.
