AAP receives Rs 41 lakh on Jan 1
New Delhi, Jan 2: It was indeed a happy new year for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as it continued to receive the support of the public in the form of donations that continued to flow into its accounts.

Reports suggest that on Jan 1, the AAP received Rs 41 lakhs as donations from 2,476 donors, for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The donations continued after Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal urged people to donate wholeheartedly in the month of December so that the party could fight the future elections.

This was the highest donation since Dec 12. Earlier the party had set a target of Rs 20 crore to fight the Delhi Assembly elections for which the people donated whole heartedly. However on Nov 17 the party had asked people to stop donating funds for since they had achieved the required target.

AAP has received maximum donations from India followed by United States, UAE, UK, Singapore and Qatar and the number of supporters for the party continues to swell.
