Seven Delhi cops suspended for involvement in corruption

New Delhi, Feb 5: Seven officers of Delhi Police, including sub-inspectors and constables, were suspended because of alleged involvement in corrupt practices, a report of Headlines Today said on Wednesday.

According to a sting operation carried out by a team of TV Today, the accused policemen were found taking bribes from common people for carrying out their duty.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government of Delhi decided to take stern action against the culprits. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked the anti-graft unit to take cognisance of the sting operation report against the Delhi policemen.

The Ministry of External Affairs gave its nod to the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe into the allegations of corruption.
