25 Indian workers held in Kuwait for alleged murder of two Egyptians
News reports suggest that the Indian workers had a fight with a group of Egyptians and reportedly two Egyptians died. The workers were detained after the incident.
The 25 Indian workers have now appealed through a video to the Indian government to take action.
Meanwhile, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said that they were aware of the situation and were keeping a close eye on the issue.
Syed Akbarruddin, spokesperson of MEA said: "Indian Mission in Kuwait has taken up the problems with Kuwaiti authorities. All need to abide by local laws."
On the other hand, Congress leader Anand Sharma said that the government must take up the issue with Kuwaiti authorities and make sure that the Indian workers are treated with dignity."
