SM Krishna says, Cong demanding LoP post not justifiable
Krishna, who was in Mysore for an event told reporters that Congress party's stand and demand for the LoP post was not justifiable, when the rule stipulates that the party demanding the LoP post should have atleast 10 percent strength of the total numbers in the House.
"Congress has won 44 seats in the last Lok Sabha elections and to demand this post it should have won at least 5,455 seats. One cannot bend or deviate from a rule to accommodate the Congress," he said.
On asking what he thought of the Modi government, he said that the new government needed at least six months time to deliver. "Now only 100 days have passed and it is too early to comment," he added.
Meanwhile, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan had alsready rejected Congress' demand for LoP status as its nominee.
