Toll booth attack: Maharastra govt serves recovery notice to MNS
MNS workers and activists, who indulged in vandalising four toll booths have been asked to cough up Rs 3.90 lakhs as damages. However before paying they have been asked to appear before the District Collector first.
In the last week of January, several MNS workers and activists had vandalised several toll booths and even beat up the toll booth staff.
It all began when MNS chief Raj Thackeray in a speech provocated his workers to beat up 'if anybody demanded toll tax.'
Close to 25 MNS workers were detained and there were reports that Thackeray would also be arrested regarding the same. The Mahararastra government then had strictly condemned the act and had said that action would be taken against those accused.
