Mumbai: Woman lures, dupes elderly men for gold valuables, gets arrested

Mumbai, Aug 17: A 50-year-old woman has been arrested for befriending and duping elderly men in Mumbai.

According to a report published in Mid Day, the accused woman has been identified as Geeta Patel, a resident of Bhayandar.

She is a mother of four children- a daughter and three sons, who all are married. She has been staying away from her husband from last six years.

Her shocking cheap acts

Reportedly, she used to lure victims by making them touch her and then she used to threaten them, saying she will expose them, in an attempt to extort money and valuable items from them.

To lay the trap, she used to target buildings, without any watchman. To commit the crime, she was accompanied by a man, who used to give her tip offs.

The moment she found her prey (read elderly male), she used to pretend that she g=has fallen and got her leg injured, so that victims come to her rescue.

She used to request them to drop her till home, as she was not able to walk properly. Then, victims, used to take her to her home. But on the stairs, the woman used to touch victims and made them touch her.

While taking advantage of the situation, she used to scream and threaten them to expose them.

Then, she used to force them to hand over their gold valuables or expensive watches to her.

The sensational case came to light when a 57-year-old businessman was duped by her, as she had taken his gold chain. In July, he approached MHB police station to file a complaint against her.

Following the complaint, police arrested her and seized gold from her.
