Mumbai, Jan 28: The BJP's prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met the newly appointed religious head of Dawoodi Bohra community Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin in Mumbai.

Modi also paid his condolences to the departed religious leader Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin.

The newly appointed 53rd Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, who is son of the late Dr Syedna, hailed the able leadership qualities of Modi and wished him great success in taking India to greater heights.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included BJP's Maharashtra unit President Devendra Fadanvis, Mumbai unit President, senior party leaders Vijay Rupani and Gopinath Munde and leaders of Dawoodi Bohra community.

Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin passed away following cardiac arrest at the age of 102, at Saifee Mahal, his residence in Malabar Hill in south Mumbai.
