Mumbai, Nov 23: Maharashtra's former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on Saturday, Nov 22 got stuck in a lift for at least 45 minutes and was rescued by firemen, media reports said.
The freak incident happened on Saturday evening when Chavan was present at his office in Ravindra Mansion, Churchgate in south Mumbai.
Chavan had entered into the lift to go at the first floor of the office, along with the MPCC general secretary Sanjay Dutt, from the ground floor, in the seven storey building.
When all the attempts to open the jammed doors of the elevator went futile by the security guards, the firemen had to be called to rescue the duo.
After getting locked for about 45 minutes in the lift, both Chavan and Dutt were rescued safely.
