Maha assembly polls: NCP hints at contesting polls alone
NCP leader Ajit Pawar on Saturday said that regional parties must contest the Mahashtra Assembly elections alone. "It is time for all regional parties to contest poll alone. Single party rule is better in the state as it will enable the government to deliver development to people," he said.
Meanwhile, Pawar on Thursday had said that NCP's demand for 144 seats was justified.
"It is a practical demand. Earlier, formulas were worked out on the basis of previous election results. So according to the latest Lok Sabha poll result, we deserve equal sharing," he said.
Meanwhile, BJP said that Pawar must reflect on why people rejected them. "He should reflect on one issue, why did people of the state reject them outrightly in LS polls after 15 years," said Nalin Kohli, BJP leader.
