Eviction notice ends today for residents of Campa Cola society
The Supreme Court had rejected the plea of the residents on Tuesday who were opposed against the demolition of the flats. They had filed a plea demanding a stay on the demolition of their flats till the court decides on their curative petition.
The curative petition, quoting information received through RTI, says that the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and the state had decided to regularise the illegal construction in 1985.
Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan had earlier steered clear out of the Supreme Court's way saying that the state government will not intervene in the Campa Cola building issue.
He however did add that he was willing to consider any proposal provided it is within the legal framework and doenst affect the Supreme Court's order.
