Mumbai, Oct 25: After Sonu Nigam, now Bollywood director Ram Gopal Verma has been threatened. Mumbai Police beefed up Verma's security, sources informed on Friday, Oct 25.

However, it has not been divulged any information regarding who threatened Verma and what sort of threat was issued to him. Turning to micro-blogging site Twitter, Verma informed about the threat but chose to remain silent while disclosing any details of the threat.

Verma tweeted, "On the basis of an intercepted conversation, the Mumbai police gave me security for various reasons. I cannot divulge the content of the threat. For some important reasons, I cannot comment on whether or not this threat to me is related to the content of Satya 2."

Meanwhile, Additional Police Commissioner (West Region) Vishwas Nagare Patil was quoted as saying, "I would not be displaying professionalism if I talk about somebody receiving a threat. I would not like to comment anything on the matter."

It has been reported that Verma's upcoming movie Satya 2 has been postponed to be released on Nov 8. The movie Satya was based on lives of some gang stars.

Earlier it was reported that Dawood Ibrahim's close aide Chhota Shakeel allegedly threatened Sonu Nigam. The underworld don reportedly threatened to expose the Bollywood singer if he does not obey their command regarding his upcoming world tour.

Shakeel has been making calls and sending texts to Nigam asking him to change his even management agency which will arrange his world tour. The don reportedly asked Nigam to appoint a Dubai-based event management agency.
