OneIndia.in retains leadership, establishes a substantial lead over its competitors

New Delhi, December 14, 2010: According to comScore, the Global Internet Information Provider, OneIndia.in, Online Vernacular News Site, is ahead of the next largest competitor by 36% on unique visitors, as in October 2010.

OneIndia.in is leading in 'Total Pages Viewed' and 'Total Visits', ahead by considerable margins of 57% and 37% respectively, as compared to the next largest competitor.

On the development, B.G. Mahesh, CEO of OneIndia.in said, "Only 12% of Indians are comfortable reading news in English, vernacular is the future of internet in India. These results highlight an increasing demand of content on the internet as subscribers expand in tier 1 & 2 cities. Oneindia has retained its leadership position in the vernacular space.

Unique visitors to the site went up by 31% y-o-y in October 2010 as per comScore. 'Total Pages Viewed' and 'Total Minutes' spent on OneIndia.in have grown by over 50%, as compared to October' 2009.

OneIndia.in is the 4th most visited sites in India in the news/information category of sites, the others being Yahoo! News Network, The Times of India, New York Times Digital and HT Media Ltd respectively.

Overall, unique visitors to vernacular news sites have increased by 12% in October 2010, as compared to October 2009.

Earlier in the year OneIndia.in was launched on NewsHunt. Supporting over 1000 GPRS enabled handsets, the application NewsHunt allows users to read content in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The latest version of application is supported on the fastest growing mobile platform - Android too.
