Uttar Pradesh govt on its toes ahead of Narendra Modi's rally
After serial blasts went off in Patna in Gandhi Maidan on Oct 27, just hours before Modi was to address a rally there, the UP government has pulled up its socks and does not want to take any chances with Modi's security.
The security cover includes four SPs, 12 additional SPs, 29 deputy SPs, 225 sub-inspectors and 730 constables, 86 Anti-Terror Squad commands, 6 companies of Provincial Arms Constabulary, bomb disposal squads and anti- sabotage teams.
Reports: Modi may be given a bullet proof podium for his rally
BJP had earlier asked for more security cover for Modi after the Patna blasts.
In order to create more awareness among the people, the UP police has put up posters of IM operative Tehseen Akhtar at public places in Bahraich after he emerged as one of the master minds in the Patna blasts.
Reports suggest that Modi may be given a bullet proof podium for his rally and the ground will be monitored by CCTVs installed at different corners and in the middle of the ground.
