SP supremo Mulayam Singh pulls up son Akhilesh Yadav
According to an NDTV report, Mulayam told Akhilesh during a function in Lucknow, "Aye Mukhyamantri sun lo! (Hey! Chief Minister, listen!). Officers are delaying clearances. Chaploos (stooges) are running the government. Stooges always cheat you, they are not good for a chief minister's image".
"You are running a government of sycophants", he added.
However, 40-year-old Akhilesh 'smilingly' listened to his father's advice or warning.
The party's senior leader Azam Khan, who was sitting next to Akhilesh, was also reprimanded.
"Azam Khan, please start working," Mulayam said.
During Muzaffarnagar riots, Mulayam Singh Yadav had defended Akhilesh's way of handling the sensitive matter and had said that there has been 'no failure on part of his government'.
The Akhilesh Yadav- led SP government is facing a tough challenge ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2014 as the BJP, AAP and Congress have been aggressively holding 'election campaigns' in various parts of the state.
Last week, Akhilesh had flagged off a cycle rally of the Samajwadi Party, that will reach Lucknow in two weeks to woo voters for the Lok Sabha election.
