NIA officer Tenzil Ahmed was shot dead with a service revolver

Lucknow, July 6: It was a stolen service pistol that was used to murder NIA officer Tenzil Ahmed. The interrogation of Muneer, the prime accused in the case has revealed that he had murdered several more cops only with an intention of stealing their weapons.

However in the murder of Ahmed, the motive was pure revenge, officials part of the investigation tell OneIndia.

Apart from killing cops and stealing weapons, Muneer was also involved in the murder of a security guard who was manning a bank van carrying cash. Further he was also involved in the murder of a businessman in Aligarh and the reason behind this was he wanted to steal the revolver which was in the possession of the victim.

Service revolver used in murder of Ahmed

The police say that Muneer had shot a constable dead only with an intention of stealing his pistol. The constable who was shot at was Dharampal. Further he was also involved in the murder another constable Suresh Babu from whom he had stolen the service revolver.

The police say that it was the same pistols that were used in the murder of Ahmed. The motive behind the murder of Ahmed was purely revenge as he feared that he may have him arrested.

During the initial part of the probe, it was found that Ahmed had outed Muneer to the UP cops. Muneer fearing arrest had fled UP.

Further investigations have also revealed that Muneer had stolen cash on several occasions. The biggest heist was a bank robbery involving Rs 1.25 crore. He had used the money to purchase property in Uttar Pradesh.
