Narendra Modi to address rally at Bahraich in UP today

Lucknow, Nov 8: BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will address Vijay Shankhnad Rally at Nanpara Road in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, at 1.00 pm on Friday.

A massive audience is expected at the venue. Senior leaders are also expected to participate in the rally. Security has been beefed up ahead of the rally. Authorities are taking extra care for the heavyweight leader's security since the serial blasts that rocked the BJP's mega rally in Patna on October 27.

The Gujarat Police is camping in Bahraich district, which borders Nepal and where militant groups are known to be active, and holding drills with their UP counterparts. The security forces have also decided to check the ground for hidden explosives. Door-frame metal detectors are also being installed at all entry points at the venue.

This will be Modi's third rally in the key state ahead of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled next year. He addressed mega rallies in Kanpur and Jhansi last month.

On Thursday, Modi addressed three rallies in Chhattisgarh where he slammed the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.
