Aparna has got the ticket to contest next year elections from Lucknow Cantonment assembly constituency. Presently, Congress leader Rita Bahuguna is MLA from this seat. Interestingly, SP has never won any seat from Lucknow cantt consituency, so it would be a tough task for Aparna.
Aparna toured in various areas of Lucknow's Alambagh like- Geeta Palli, Azad Nagar, Om Nagar, Pakri Ka Pul, Bhilwa, Natkhera, Chandan Nagar till Avadh hospital, where she interacted with locals.
Aparna also highlighted the welfare and developmental schemes launched by the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Aparna launched her cycle rally from Eco garden of Alambagh and also addressed party workers at VIP road.
Aparna tied the knot with Akhilesh's younger brother Prateek Yadav in December 2011 and the couple has a daughter named Prathama. Aparna, who is also a classical singer, is the daughter of a senior journalist Arvind Singh Bisht.
She is also the brand ambassador of 'B-Aware' NGO, that educates women about their rights, laws meant for their safety and self-defence techniques.
In January this year, Aparna also attended the programme during PM Narendra Modi's visit to Ambedkar University and clicked a selfie with him.
