The top contest is between the BJP candidate and Bollywood's "Dream Girl" Hema Malini and RLD chief Ajit Singh's son Jayant Chaudhray.
Recently, while talking to OneIndia, voters expressed their disappointment with Hema Malini as her husband and legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra could not come at her election campaigns.
Mohanlal, a native of Mathura, said, "We are waiting for Veeru's (Dharmendra) entry and if Basanti cannot convince her husband, then how will she take care of Mathura?"
"During her roadshows, she promised us that Dharmendra will soon join her campaign. Even her daughter Esha Deol also assured that her father will be in Mathura on the last day of campaigning. They have cheated us. Now, I will not vote for them", he said.
Deepali Porwal, another voter said, "Does Hema Malini consider only Esha and Ahana as her family members and not Dharamji?"
However, a local SP leader said, " With 'Modi wave', there are chances that Hema Malini can secure a win for herself. Then, there is no need of Dharmendra to come here for campaigning."
Even though, Dharmendra could not take out time for campaigning for her wife, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi sought votes for her on Tuesday.
Hema Malini has declared her assets worth more than Rs 192 crore.
During her rallies, Malini has tried to woo women electors which are expected to play an important role in the elections.
In Mathura, out of the total 16,83,994 electors in the constituency, 7,50,471 are women voters.
