Khan, who was speaking to reporters in Rampur said that the Election Commission was behaving like God and dared the commission to cancel his membership in the state assembly.
Khan said: "The EC should adopt a line of action best suited for democracy and in the spirit of the Constitution." Khan had received a showcause notice on April 23 for allegedly making objectionale remarks at EC.
EC had banned him after he made controversial statements on the Kargil war where he said that Muslims had won the Kargil war.
Azam Khan also made an indirect jibe at BJP leader Amit Shah saying that 'a person who was termed as a hooligan was allowed to campaign but EC took action against him because he is a Muslim. '
