Actor Sunny Deol holds roadshow for Satyapal Singh in Baghpat

Baghpat, March 21: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol on Thursday campaigned for the BJP's candidate Dr Satyapal Singh in Baghpat district of western Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, huge crowd gathered in Baghpat when the superstar Sunny Deol held roadshow in support of the former Mumbai police Commissioner Satyapal Singh, who is contesting against RLD leader Ajit Singh in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"Sunny Deol urged the people of Baghpat to elect Dr Satyapal Singh as their constituency's representative to the Lok Sabha and help Narendra Modi become the next Prime Minister of India", Pinkvilla reported.

He said the voters, especially the youth, must use their vote like he uses his "dhai kilo ka haath".

The actor reminded the people about Singh's stellar role as Mumbai Police chief in enforcing law and order. He said only Singh "could help the area get out of its present miserable condition and put it on the fast track of growth".

Sunny Deol may contest polls from Ludhiana against I&B minister Manish Tewari.

Satyapal also thanked Sunny Deol for coming all the way from Mumbai to support Modi, BJP and him.

Meanwhile, there were reports that some RLD workers created ruckus during Sunny Deol's roadshow in Baghpat.

Sunny Deol to join BJP?

Earlier, some media reports have indicated that Sunny Deol may join BJP and he is also in talks with Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).

Sources said that BJP is trying to convince Deol to contest elections from Ludhiana seat  against I&B minister Manish Tewari in Punjab, where his entire family is very popular.

His father and legendary actor Dharmendra, too contested and won elections on BJP ticket from Bikaner, Rajashthan in 2004.

BJP already has a long list of Bollywood stars like Hema Malini, Smriti Irani, Kirron Kher, Shatrughan Sinha, Vinod Khanna, in its kitty including popular singers Bappi Lahiri and Manoj Tiwari.
