Kerala CM injured in Kannur protest
Kozhikode (Kerala), Oct 28: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy received injuries to his forehead and hands on Sunday afternoon after some black-flag waving protesters allegedly from the CPI(M) hurled stones at his car, shattering the side glasses. The incident happened when Chandy was on his way to inaugurate the valedictory programme of a state police athletic meet in Kannur.

The chief minister, however, went ahead to attend the programme before receiving a medical treatment. Though the injuries were not major, it exposed the lapse in the security arrangement for the chief minister. The state police couldn't prevent such an awkward incident despite the presence of all top officers at the venue.

The Left protesters were waving black flag over the solar scam

Hundreds of CPI(M) and other parties of the Left Democratic Front assembled at the programme venue on Sunday to protest against the CM, seeking his resignation over the solar scandal. CPI(M) central committee member P K Sreemathi and Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan were present during the protests.

Two CPI(M) activists were held after the stone-pelting incident.
