Kolkata, March 28: Are Trinamool Congress (TMC) and AIADMK supremos coming together? The southern leader, Jayalalithaa, had rang up her TMC counterpart Mamata Banerjee earlier this month after the latter said that she had no problem in backing her after the idea of the Third Front collapsed. Now, the TMC has decided not to contest in Tamil Nadu in lieu of the AIADMK's support for its candidates in the Andamans. The news was confirmed by TMC's All-India General Secretary Mukul Roy, said a report published in Bengali daily Ei Samay.

According to Roy, the Andamans have a sizeable Tamil votebank and its support will help the TMC there.

Jayalalithaa had called up Mamata after the latter expressed support for her

It was also said in the report that Banerjee will address a series of rallies throughout April, beginning with the rally in Tripura West constituency on April 1. She will also attend rallies in Jharkhand besides those in West Bengal.

The Lok Sabha election kicks off on April 7 when six seats in Assam and Tripua will go to the polls.
