Mamata advises unemployed youth
Siliguri (West Bengal), June 6: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday advised the unemployed youths of the state to sell snacks, work in tea stalls and even dig up soil to earn a living.

Speaking at a rally in Madarihat in Jalpaiguri district, Banerjee said that it is better not to wait for a government job and do whatever work is available in hand.

"I want to tell my unemployed brothers that you will get job but you have to wait for that. So, I would request you to focus on whatever job you get for it will fetch you some income. No work is lesser and you should do it proudly. I have seen people making three-storey house just by selling snacks. You can do that as well," Banerjee said, according to Bengali daily Anandabazaar Patrika.

Mamata has often claimed to have given jobs to lakhs of youth in her state

Ever since coming to power in 2011, the Trinmaool Congress chief has claimed time and again that her government has provided jobs to over a lakh people although such claims have been criticised by the opposition. The latest advice of Banerjee might prove to be a shot in the opposition's arm.
