Saradha scam: I may get killed, says suspended Trinamool MP Kunal Ghosh
The journalist-turned-MP said in a court here that some people were enjoying their time during the Durga Puja despite taking advantages from the Saradha episode while he was rotting in jail. "It cannot go like this," Ghosh, who was arrested in November last year, said. Recently, Ghosh accused party chief and the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, of taking maximum benefit from Saradha. He has also brought charges against many other TMC leaders.
Ghosh said he wanted to go to the CBI's custody and provide it with further information. He said he suspected that the Special Investigation Team did not provide the CBI with enough information. He also added that if he was murdered, a lot of information would never see the daylight. Ghosh broke down in the court while saying this.
The court ordered the CBI to record Ghosh's statement in jail. The next hearing is scheduled on October 21.
State BJP president Rahul Sinha said Ghosh's fear was not without a basis. He said he would write to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the matter.
