Kolkata, March 1: BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had told him that if he becomes the PM, he would quickly approve projects that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would send to the Centre, the saffron party's Lok Sabha candidate from Barasat in Bengal PC Sorcar Junior said recently.

According to a report published in major Bengali daily Anandabazaar Patrika on Saturday, Sorcar also told that Modi would forgive the massive debt of West Bengal, which has been a reason of friction between the state and the current Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.

Modi also said that as PM, he would forgive Bengal's debt, Sorcar added

"I had asked Modi during his rally in Kolkata last month what he would do for West Bengal if he becomes the prime minister. I also told him that I can make out what is the truth for I am not just a magician but also a psychologist," the daily quoted the magician, known for his humour, quoted him as saying.

Modi addressed a big rally at the Brigade Parade Grounds here on February 5.

Another celebrity from the state, actor George Baker is also contesting on the BJP's ticket. The veteran actor, who will contest from Howrah, said he had been a supporter of the Congress for many years but he is frustrated with the present scenario, the daily added.
