Giant screens to show swearing-in
Kolkata, May 26: The BJP leadership and supporters in West Bengal have made big preparations to celebrate the searing-in of the country's next prime minister, Narendra Modi. BJP offices in Kolkata as well as in the districts have been decorated for the occasion.

Huge cut-outs of the PM-elect have been put up while the statue of Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mookerjee has been decorated. Huge orders for sweets have been placed as well. In many areas, the party has even put up giant screens in various cities and districts in the state for live telecasting of the swearing-in.

According to a report in Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika, the BJP ha set up giant screens in all the 25 wrds of Englishbazar municipality in Malda district. Party officials have organised yajnas in West Midnapore district to offer prayers for Modi. In Bankura and Birbhum districts, the BJP leadership has taken initiative to distribute Motichoor laddoos across the districts, the report added.

However, not much is happening in Asansol from where BJP's Babul Supriyo won in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election. According to the Bengali daily, the local leaders of Assansol had left for New Delhi to witness the swearing-in ceremony.
