Kolkata, May 4: They say Mamata Banerjee is a better human being than an administrator. The people of the state has seen a number of times the Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief helping the needy out there.
Her critics will disagree, saying it is not true for Banerjee has been seen abusing people or getting them arrested for any question or act that hasn't made her comfortable. For her supporters, the counter argument is: That's looking at it politically. As a non-political personality, Banerjee has a soft heart, according to them. Yet another incident showing the soft side of Banerjee took place on Tuesday when she was addressing her final election rally in Dinhata constituency in Cooch Behar district of northern Bengal.
According to an Indian Express report, a woman among the audience collapsed in the heat and Banerjee noticed that. She immediately stopped her address and took care of the fact that the woman is given treatment with care. She was even found reprimanding somebody in the public for not handling the woman with enough care, said the report. The chief minister called for ambulances, doctors and water.
The CM, as the report said, even took up a water bottle which was meant for her and threw it in the direction of the ill woman. When the crowd cheered at her gesture, the TMC supremo said her government cares for the people.
Tuesday was the final day of campaigning for this year's Assembly election. The results will come out on May 19.
