Bengal polls: Despite attack on her kid, mother casts vote
Kolkata, April 25: The mother of the three-year-old girl who said he was determined to cast his vote in this election despite goons allegedly backed by the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) targeting her family, including the child, on the eve of the fourth phase of the polling on Monday (April 25).

The family was apparently targeted since it is a supporter of the Left. The incident occurred in Halisahar in North 24 Parganas district. The area falls under the Bijpur constituency which is under the control of the TMC. Subhrangshu Roy, son of former Union minister Mukul Roy, is the sitting MLA from this constituency. The news made a big impact and even the Election Commission (EC) sought a report on the issue after it was telecast in various media channels. A team of the EC also visited the attacked family's house. The kid's injury was, however, not serious. Two persons were later arrested in this connection. [Finally, central forces meet expectations]
Her mother went ahead to cast her ballot despite the experience. She was seen going to the booth with her daughter.
