Khandaghosh (West Bengal), April 22: While one CPI(M) booth agent was killed by miscreants during polling in a booth in violence-prone Domkol constituency in Murshidabad district of West Bengal on Thursday, two more CPI(M) workers injured in violence died in Burdwan district in the night. The duo, identified as Dukhiram Daal and Sheikh Fajal Haque, were seriously injured during an attack by goons, allegedly backed by the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) during polling in Khandaghosh constituency in Burdwan district.
When the CPI(M) resisted to the attacks on their houses, serious clashes broke out and Daal and Haque were allegedly abducted. The two were found in seriously injured condition in a nearby field by the villagers. They were taken to a hospital in Burdwan where they were declared dead by the doctors. Haque was a booth agent of the CPI(M), it was said.
Local people said the two deceased workers were earlier members of the TMC. They joined the CPI(M) recently and was being targeted by the ruling party because of this.
