Chief Election Commissioner Syed Nasim Ahmad Zaidi this, adding that the issue will be sent to the concerned authorities, added the reports.
The Opposition approached the panel with the footage on Monday night after the Narada News agency released it in the morning. The Opposition also asked the ECI to bar the TMC from participating in the election procedure. The ruling party also approached the ECI defending itself.
The ECI said the issue has been raised by some other parties as well and it was looking into the matter.
Zaidi also said that the commission is keeping a close watch to ensure that no illegal transactions take place over the election. He also spoke about deploying personnel and squads for this purpose, the reports added.
The commission said it is determined to make the upcoming election a peaceful one. That the ECI officials are really meaning business this time could be seen when district superintendents of police and district magistrates faced flak on the question of carrying out their duties fairly, the reports said citing sources.
