Bose, the editor of a Bengali daily, was named by his party colleague and suspended MP Kunal Ghosh who is already in the CBI custody for his involvement in the scam.
The CBI arrested former West Bengal DGP and current TMC leader Rajat Majumdar on Tuesday [read] in connection with the scam after four hours of interrogation. He was arrested on charges of misappropriation of funds, conspiracy and cheating.
Meanwhile, Kunal Ghosh wrote an open letter to the TMC leadership asking it set up an internal prone panel within 72 hours. He also urged TMC supporters to judge things themselves and said that he revealed whatever he had for the sake of probe and not vote politics.
The Saradha Group, a consortium of over 200 private companies and which ran an investment scheme, crumbled last year, resulting in the loss of thousands of crores of rupees to over 17 lakh investors. Its chief Sudipta Sen was arrested from Jammu and Kashmir in April last year where he fled with two of his companions.
Last week, Kunal Ghosh demanded that the state's chief minister, Mamata Banerjee should also be grilled along with him in connection to the scam and remarked that it was the TMC supremo who had gained the most from it.
On Tuesday, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien came to the defence of Banerjee saying accusing her of corruption was laughable and said she would battle the criticism successfully.
