J&K election: Section 144 imposed in Doda town ahead of first phase of polling
Jammu, Nov 24: Section 144 was imposed in Doda city on Monday after the police got information about the National Conference and Congress party workers allegedly involved in distributing money and liquor among people to woo voters for tomorrow's polling. [J&K assembly election 2014 schedule]
Fifteen out of 87 seats will go to the election on Tuesday, when the first of the five phases of assembly election will be held.
Doda was won by the Congress in 2008.
Security was beefed up in all 1,787 polling stations in the poll-bound seats across seven districts of the state. Adequate personnel of the state police and paramilitary forces were deployed to ensure that the election is held peacefully.

A total of 123 candidates are in fray in the first phase while the number of electorate is 1,051,642.
Polling will begin at 7 am on Tuesday and conclude at 4 pm.
