'Poor' representation of Raj in Cabinet disappointing: Congress
PCC President Sachin Pilot said it was disappointing that only one MP from Rajasthan was made Minister of State despite the fact that the party won all 25 constituencies in the LS elections.
He said people gave unprecedented mandate to BJP in the elections and expected a good representation in the Cabinet but only one MP could become MoS.
"Either the BJP MPs were not deserving candidates for ministerial berth or the chief minister failed to make a strong representation of the MPs from the state," said Pilot, who is a former MoS.
Pilot lost the Lok Sabha elections from Ajmer constituency. Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Rameshwar Dudi said in the Congress-led UPA government, Rajasthan had a good representation with three Cabinet and four MoS berths which, he claimed, was the biggest representation from the state.
"Modi had promised 'acchey din ane wale hai' (good days are ahead), but with this poor representation of the state in his Cabinet, it doesn't seem good days for the state will come," Dudi said.
Nihalchand is the only MP from Rajasthan who became Union MoS yesterday.
