US: Pig ordered off plane for 'causing disruption'

Connecticut, Nov 29: A pig was brought down from a US Airways plane at Bradley International Airport here after the crew members felt that it had become disruptive for the flight. The unique incident happened last Wednesday.

According to an AP report, the ordering off the animal was confirmed by Laura Masdival, a spokesperson for American Airlines, parent of the US Airways.

The pig was taken aboard by a passenger as an ‘emotional support animal'. Jonathan Skolnik, a professor of the University of Massachussets who was on the flight told ABC News that he initially thought the passenger was carrying a duffel bag but he was soon proved wrong, the AP report said.

It was a pig on the move.

The animal, believed to be weighing around 50-70 pounds, started walking around, Skolnik said.

Emotional support animals are companion animals for therapeutic support which are allowed on commercial flights under US Department of Transportation rules as long as they do not cause disruption.
