Washington, Feb 18: It is said that marriages are made in heaven and this one is truly a classic case of fairy tale love affair. Her compassion saved his life and then both lost their hearts to each other for love.

In January 2014, 26-year-old Kentucky-based Ashley McIntyre heard a heart-tugging radio appeal by 25-year-old Danny Robinson to donate a kidney in Louisville, Kentucky.

According to reports, Robinson was suffering from Berger's disease since the age of 16. None of his family members' kidney had matched with him.

He had to spent two years on dialysis. Besides failing health, his personal life was also in distress as his house was gutted in fire in 2011 on Christmas and his father died of brain cancer in 2012.

After a series of tests, it was found that Ashley had O- blood group (Universal donor). Before the operation, both started texting each other and remained in touch.

On April 17, 2014, the kidney was successfully transplanted at the University of Kentucky Transplant Center.

In May, the two started dating each other.

Ashley, who formally got engaged to Robinson last year on Christmas, is now expecting a baby girl with him, on June 9 this year. The couple has decided to name her 'Berkli'.

Ashley was quoted saying as to the ABC news, "As soon as we started dating - not long after that - was when we realised, this was it."

"I never in a million years imagined this would happen ... it was a whirlwind. It's crazy how it all worked. It was all planned out by God", she said.

Now, that their relationship has blossomed into love, Robinson has also got a new lease of life by receiving his would-be wife's kidney.
