UN condemns bombing of school in Gaza that killed many children
A day after the UN school in Gaza was bombed by Israeli military, UN said that it was ‘shameful to attack sleeping children'.
UN chief Ban Ki Moon said that UN shelters should be safe zones and not combat zones.
Moon said: "I condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms. It is outrageous, it is unjustifiable." The school was run by UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
Reports suggest that Israel bombed the school at least three times inspite of UN informing about the Israeli military of the school's location.
The current conflict between Israeli troops and Palestinians in Gaza Strip has drawn worldwide attention with many civilians being killed in the same.
Meanwhile US on Wednesday condemned the attack on the UN school but also confirmed restocking Israel's dwindling supply of ammunition.
