Taipei, July 3: Pilot of a TransAsia plane which crashed in February this year had switched off the only working engine before it crashed and ended up in river here.

This has been revealed in the latest report by the Taiwan's aviation regulator, reported BBC.

According the report, the pilot was heard saying: "Wow, pulled back the wrong side throttle."
It does not assign blame for the crash.

When pilot switched off wrong engine

Flight data shows that the plane stalled and crashed shortly after the working engine was switched off.

The plane, which took off from Taipei's Songshan airport, was carrying 58 passengers when it met with the disaster.

The aircraft, which was less than a year old, flew perilously between buildings and clipped a bridge and a taxi before crashing into the shallow Keelung River in Taiwan's capital, Taipei.

Fifteen of the 58 people on board the flight, all mainland Chinese or from Taiwan, survived.

The final report will be published next April.
