Karachi airport: Terrorists strike again, Twitter reacts
Security forces are engaged in a gun battle at the ASF camp number 2 inside Karachi's Jinnah International Airport, Dawn online reported. Moreover, it is said that more such attacks are to come.
Dawn says that the Director General of Rangers has reached the site to oversee the operation. The airport flight operations have been suspended and reportedly, a Shaheen International Airlines flight NL 162 coming from Multan has been sent back. Roads leading to the airport have been cordoned off. Reports say that attackers managed to flee as a heavy contingent of security forces reached Airport Security Force. However, a search is underway in the airport.
The sounds of explosions caused panic among the citizens. Pakistani news channel Express News have reported that the terrorists have come from Pehalwan Goth area. Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Taliban has claimed the attacks.
Heavy gunfire and explosions were heard again after security forces claimed that they had sanitised the airport yesterday. Heavy gunfire is now exchanged between terrorists and security forces like ASF and Pakistan Rangers.
