Talks between Pakistan PM Sharif and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena today
Islamabad, April 6: Talks between Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and visiting Sri Lankan President is being held on Monday, media reported.
Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena arrived Pakistan on a three-day visit to the country on Sunday, Radio Pakistan reported.
The two sides is set to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in diverse fields. Regional and international issues will also be discussed.
Many Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and agreements to promote bilateral cooperation in various sectors with focus on trade also likely to be signed during the visit.
Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena to visit Pakistan on April 5
The Sri Lankan President has arrived Pakistan on the invitation of President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. This is his first visit to the country after coming to the power in January after defeating Mahinda Rajapaksha.
The visit will open new avenues of cooperation between the two countries.
President Maithripala Sirisena paid a visit to India in February while Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Sri Lanka last month only.
